Change in Reference and BI:
How Much Help and How?
edited by Linda Shirato and Rhonda Fowler
The relationship between library instruction and reference is a
long
one; both try to assist the library user in finding information and
in
learning to use the library. However, there has often been friction
between
the two. This work explores new ways of handling these functions.
Change in Reference and BI supplements and enhances three
entertaining
main articles by an array of excellent workshop, instructional and
poster
session materials, all of which were presented at the Twenty-second
National
LOEX Library Instruction Conference. Included in this volume is Dan
Ream's
humorous but realistic "Scratch That Glitch: or, The Fine Art
of Glitch
Management," which was the entertainment highlight of the
conference.
